Thomas Sorovetz Receives Lifetime Achievement Award The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) awarded its first Lifetime Achievement Award to Thomas Sorovetz. Sorovetz, a casting engineer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and AMUG's event manager, was recognized during the group's 30th annual confer- ence for 25 years of service, hard work and dedication. According to the organization, Sorovetz is the most-honored AMUG member as the only person to have received the three most prestigious awards that the group bestows: President's Award (2000), DINO (Distin- guished Innovator operator) Award (2001) and Lifetime Achievement Award (2018). Renishaw Publishes Additive Manufacturing Guide Renishaw has launched a dedicated AM page on its website at renishaw. com/amguide. The company intends to use this information hub to educate and inform customers and the wider engineering commu- nity of the possibilities of AM and its business impact, and to increase its use in mainstream manufacturing. The Meld process heats material to the point that it is malleable but not melted, resulting in properties that meet or exceed similar processes, according to the company.
